9 month old walking

Hi, I was just curious on how long after first step do babies walk efficiently. My 9 month old has recently been standing for a few seconds at a time and taking 3 or 4 steps. Does this seem like she may be walking soon or could it still be a while away? Thanks.

With my son doing his steps he then properly walked about 3 weeks later I think. He was 11 months. I think for now tour child is just gaining confidence and feeling ready to let go

I think it depends. My nieces and nephew all just did it one day then took off and never looked back. My own 3YO surprised me therefore as she took first steps just before her first birthday but then didn't really 'exclusively' walk until about a month later. She is very good physically but quite a cautious type. I think that plays quite a big part in it

Ds took his first independent steps just before his 1st birthday and would walk short distances between furniture from then on. He didn't start walking full time as his main mode of transport until he was 14 months! I think he was just a bit nervous of letting go because when he plucked up the courage he walked as steadily as if he had been doing it for months 😁

My DS started cruising and took his first few steps when he turned 9 months old. He hits 10 month mark next week and yesterday he took about 8 steps. Today it's back to a few steps/cruising/crawling.

It's usually 10 months I'd say when most early walkers can walk properly.

Both my nieces were walking at 9m and went from a few steps to confident walking within a week, pretty much running not long after
