Toddle won’t walk

My little boy is 2 years old and is a nightmare to get to walk places. If we go out for a walk he’ll walk about 5 mins then want carrying. We went to a farm recently with a play area and he wanted carrying all the way round.

I’ve tried taking push long toys out with me which encourage him to walk for longer but he still ends up wanting a carry.

I’ve tried encouragement and playing games like finding sticks, but he’s very stubborn and when he throws a tantrum if I won’t carry him he sits/ lays on the floor and won’t move..

He goes to nursery and all the other children walk in but he wants carrying.

My friends little girl who is the same age will literally walk/ run around everywhere, is anyone else’s toddler like mine? Do you have any suggestions?

How is he at home? Is he quite active or does he mainly sit and play?

He does both, he does like to run around or stand and play at his table or on the windowsill.

How was his development in the whole? Does he prefer W Sitting?

Have you got an OT or physio service that can take a look?

My son is hypermobile and hypotonia and so tires very quickly with gross motor skills activities. I used to think I just needed to increase his stamina but an OT recently told me that that approach could cause him to be in pain. Currently awaiting physio input for better ideas xxx

Just 2 or nearly 3? Will he accept a buggy rather than carry?
