i can't stand it anymore. she is 5 and lovely. i think he's jealous of the attention i give her. he always lashes out at her.

he'll never have any friends

He will The most angelic children will behave like demons at the least provocation ime.
Hug him, reassure him and bribe reward him for good behaviour.
Not stirring but do you know how she is with him when they're alone? I was chastising my dd for not playing fairly with her friend (known her for a year) and overheard friend telling dd she was a "cow' not to give her the teapot and that she would stop friends b and c playing with dd next day at nursery

And yes, he is jealous. Rotten to watch but try and talk to him about it if you can. He must be lovely too

thanks finknottle. i just seem to spend all my time when they're together watching him like a hawk in case he whacks her.

maybe i shouldn't let them play together anymore. everybody tells my son off but it makes no difference.

Maybe he is fed up of being told off when she is around. It's normal for 6 year olds to be boisterous. Give him a cuddle!

She probably does! My ds used to always fall out with my friends ds who was the same age. This went on for ages and I had begun to make excuses not to get together 'cos I knew it would be a disaster, but thankfully they've both 'grown out of it' and are good friends now (which amazes me when I think back!)

thanks feel better now. he's playing nicely with his lego. think that's what he just wanted to do (alone) all along.

Er - no I wondered the same after 2 boys but dd presents a whole new spectrum... Dh is still mystified by her and she's 5
The wanting to be by himself rings a bell with me. Ds2 is sensitive & considerate and yet he's capable of the most blustery gales of emotion if he wants to be left alone.
And as the mum of a 5 yr old girl I can confirm, they can be irritating
So easy to think your child is the problem. Sometimes we just need to work out what they need.
