14 month old and brushing teeth

Hi,

My DD has recently became a little monster (over last week) with letting me brush her teeth. She has always been moderately good but recently it’s just point blank no. I’ve even resorted this evening to strapping her into her high chair and trying it that way but nope. Wasn’t happening. I have tried the silly faces, noises, dances and who knows what else but she’s just having none of it.

Anyone got any tips?

Might get flamed for this but we use screen time. We Stick coco melon on the tv for 5 minutes twice a day and brush her teeth properly. She’s barely notices what I’m doing. I would rather let her watch the tv for a few minutes a day and be able to brush her teeth properly that have to pin her down and have it turn into a traumatic experience for both of us!

My 14 month old is not allowing us to brush her teeth as well, she used to be ok and then got sick and hated anything going near her mouth. I started brushing them whilst she was playing and that helped but now for the last week she's not allowed me anywhere near her mouth again ( has coincided with her being poorly) she also hates medicine in a syringe screams the place down when trying to put it in her mouth which I don't think has helped the teeth situation.
I'm worried she's traumatised with the medicine thing and now associates everything with that so is scared.
I don't know how long I can realistically go without brushing them? I might try the television thing and see if that works 🤞🏼
