Evening All! Cut a very long story short I’m having total nightmares with my 3 year old son and the doctors are useless….

Daily I have the following from him…

  1. No proper meals just the odd biscuit here and there he doesn’t like food.
  2. Meltdowns are horrendous so much so he will try to hurt himself on purpose
  3. Can’t stand his dad my dh
  4. Doesn’t play with toys
  5. Doesn’t sleep In his own bed has to be close to mummy and doesn’t sleep all night his bed by 7:30 and up by 10pm goes back down at 1ish and sleeps in till 5am then that’s it. I just need advice as I’m turning into a bear with a sore head and no where to turn too!

Thank you

That does sound tough. Has he always been like this @Mummabear310?

Mummabear310 · 12/08/2021 14:05

He was a really good eater when his was weaned onto food got to about 1 1/2 and it all changed dramatically. I had no problems like this with my 11 ds I know you can’t compare children and I wouldn’t but I’ve just run out of ideas on how to stop this behaviour x

My DD are everything at first then became fussy. She's currently being assessed for ASD. Is this something that you've considered?

Mummabear310 · 12/08/2021 17:22

I’ve said from a very early age I believe him to be on the spectrum for something. No idea what though mothers Instinct I think! Doctor just says he will grow out of it which is useless x

I took my son to be assessed recently and this what I took way from his asd assement: eating and food textures and sleeping. I am no expert but these are two things you raised. I would push for more help.

Mummabear310 · 12/08/2021 19:19

Any ideas where I push for help? Doctors totally useless and I’m extremely tired. Of course my partners here to help but if he even goes near ds we have major meltdowns which end up horrendous. X

I would insist that you get a referral to a Paediatrician. If you GP won't refer, film him having a meltdown and keep a food and sleep diary for a week then talk to your HV.
