When to buy pre walker shoes

My almost 1 year old is walking recently. Not awfully far just round the house to coffee table from sofa etc that kinda thing. He still mainly crawls I would say. When would I get pre walker shoes?

They don't need shoes until they're walking outside and need protection from cold/wet/rough surfaces. Being barefoot is actually best for foot development and finding their balance, so since it's summer, I'd just let him wander around barefoot inside. We let our wee one go barefoot in the garden on nice days as well, and then had some soft leather shoes for out and about.

I just waited until he could walk outside and got shoes. I couldn't see the point in pre walkers
