Hiya,
Really struggling today with my ds (3). He's been shouting, fighting with my dd (2), throwing his toys all over (including at me).
He is normally well-behaved, but hasn't gone to nursery today. He is also very very tied (but won't go to sleep).

So now, he is in is bed, and going to stay there for ten minutes (and alo hoping he'll fall asleep up there).

Why is he as good as gold for everyone except me?

perhaps he's coming down with something if he's not his usual self.

Maybe - being a bit naughty is his way of letting out his confusion over not feeling well?

Agree with Lucie - my DD1 (also 3) is a nightmare to handle when she's coming down with something but won't actually say she doesn't feel well.

I agree! If ever ds was inexplicably grumpy and hard to handle, he inevitably came out with a bug a day or two later. Some days when I was able to remember this, I gave him calpol - because I figure when they're like this and it's very out of character, they are feeling rotten but just can't verbalise it.

DS often seemed to go manic when getting ill - as if he was trying to run away from feeling bad!

Try calpol?

Thanks for that.
Ds went to sleep, came downstairs about a hour ago, and he's lovely!

Agree re bad behaviour often meaning illness is on it's way, although I am the champion at making excuses for my kids.

As far as behaving well for everyone except you goes, my Dad says I should take it as a compliment. It means they are so secure with me that I know I will love them no matter how badly they behave. I've no idea if there's any truth in it but, I've chosen to believe it.
