So, 1st post here. My DD is 2.4. Only child. She’s hit all milestones, has a very impressive extensive vocab, & can count to 30. (Basically just painting a picture that I’m in no way concerned about any other area of development) however, she hates clapping, cheering & singing in groups of people. It’s so odd. At home we sing, she’s very loud in general running around (so not thinking it’s noise sensitivity). She’s been invited to a birthday party of another child she knows (neighbours) but I’m dreading it. I’ve shown her Youtube videos of kids birthday parties, told her what to expect with singing etc, she seems unsure but still says she wants to go. I’m already worrying about it, thinking she’ll probably cry the minute anyone cheers or sings or claps, & ruin the actual birthday girls day. When she does get upset sometimes she’s easier to calm than others. She does go to nursery 3 mornings a week so she’s been socialised (I mean lock down hasn’t helped let’s be honest as she saw not one other child for months) Am I to think she’s a sensitive kid? I don’t want her to miss out on ‘fun’ activities but also don’t want to push her in to anything. I’m hoping it’s a temporary thing but who knows? Anyone else been here?! Thank you for listening if you’ve got this far.
