Tensing when coming down stairs

Hi,

My LO seems to tense and sometimes hold his breath when I walk downstairs with him! I hold home securely so not sure it's that. He does it with me and my OH. Any ideas of how to stop him doing this?

I wonder if it is the diving reflex! When air blows into a babies face they naturally tense and hold their breath. My little one does it on a windy day. It's perfectly normal and they just grow out of it eventually. Blow gently on his face and see if he does the same thing Smile Maybe rushing down the stairs provokes it.
