Child tics and sore heads

My son is 9 and has been having physical tics for at least 6-12 months. I have an appointment next week with the GP but also he had been complaining of sore heads every day too and I wonder if they could be connected?

I wonder if he could have Tourette’s and what a GP could do? Is there any other condition that could cause physical tics?

He shakes his head every couple of minutes and also moves his jaw, blinks and shrugs his shoulders.

I haven't got any experience of tics or Tourette's sorry @Heathrug. Could the headaches be anxiety?

I’m not sure if it’s anxiety but could be a possibility. He complains of a sore head at different times during the day. Sometimes he’ll complain and forget about it and be playing 10 mins later, other times he will complain and continue to complain and want to lie down even if we have something fun planned. He was with my sister and was complaining so much she had to go and get him pain killers. I need to take him to the optician to rule out his eyes being the issue as I know that is something the GP will probably ask.

If you're getting his eyes tested, I'd also get his teeth checked as I think an uneven bite might cause headaches, although I'm not sure.

It does sound like anxiety though Thanks
