7 month old not making consonant sounds

Hi,I’m a bit concerned about my son. He is 7 months old and isn’t making any ga, ba, ma sounds. Just lots of oooo, ah etc. Does occasionally say boo or agoo. My health visitor said he should have been doing this by 6 months (hearing is fine) and my older son was doing it way before. Has anyone else’s children started later and been okay?

My DD didn’t start doing it until just after she turned 1! She 14 months and can say ball, dog, mama, dada now. They’re all different and do things in their own time.

Thank you for replying! I’m finding it so hard not to compare as I know they are all different(a video came up on my phone from a few years ago of my older son when he was about this age and he was saying mamama in it) so made me more worried. Makes me a bit more hopeful thank you.

Hi,
My daughter didn't make consonant noises until around 9months. I was also concerned, as I'm sure my older son was doing it at around 6 months. However, since then she hasn't stopped and seems to be hitting her other milestones.

Can I ask....when they do babble do they do it in a conversational way? My 8 month old has just started babbling recently...but only to herself, not in response to me.

Is this how they start out or do I need to be worried? Xxx
