My 3.6 yr old ds wont let me talk on the phone

Mt ds started 2 weeks ago that i couldnt talk on my mobile if in the car(not whilst driving)if i was on phone had to be looking at him, in end he would be crying and screaming so much cant hear anyway & would have to hang up after only a minute.
After a bout a week this also started with house phone indoors now when phone goes he says dont get it & only way to get it without immediate crying is for him to answer then i have to ask for phone after a bit, if my husband then he might let me talk briefly but 95% of time he will start to cry & scream so cnt hear a thing.
When i ask him whats wrong he says he wants me to talk to him, he's scared and he doesnt want me talking. At first i could be patient about it but 3 weeks down the lineand I cant make phone calls.
This week i started to put him into time out afterwards and have serious talk about how mmummy must talk on phone just for a short time for important calls. Not really getting anywhere has anyone got advice on ways to calm him down?

Do a deal: you'll throw away your mobile if he lets you take landline calls.
