12 month old doesn’t mimic

Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone else’s little ones didn’t mimic at 12 months?

She doesn’t clap, point, wave or anything like that. She’s interested when you do it, but doesn’t seem to want to do it herself. She doesn’t show us things which are of interest to her either.

This aside, her physical skills are great. She started walking at 11 months, her fine motor skills are brilliant and she understands ‘no’ (whether she chooses to obey or not is a different story!) and she will look some of the time if we point at things.

She’s started nursery and they’re working really hard at showing her clapping and waving etc, but would expect by 1 year she should be doing this!

Thanks all

I think that you're right in thinking that this a 12 month milestone.

I'd do this Progress Checker from Talking Point. It should tell you if there's anything that you need to do once you've submitted the answers Smile
