Baby watching the TV

So my little boy has just turned 8 months old today but for the past few weeks he has learnt to stand up and he’s obsessed with the TV screen now he can get to it. If he’s watching the TV he’s literally within 30cm from the screen. Can this actually damage his eyes? I move him away from it and he’s straight back over there again. Putting the TV on the wall isn’t really an option, I’m only living here temporary and the walls are so thin, they won’t even hold a toilet roll holder or curtain pole lol

Put the TV in a playpen, so he can't get to it.

Unless a fireguard would work ?

I would be worried about it falling on him.

It won’t fall on him, at the moment it’s far enough away that he can’t reach it but I mean he’s literally right up at the stand. Obviously as he grows that’ll be different. Since the wall won’t hold the whole weight of the TV I’m going to buy those little things you can use for the drawers that hook it to one small part of the wall (so if it was to fall forward it would hopefully be stopped). The issue here isn’t whether the TV is going to fall because it’s not. I just want to know is this actually damaging his eyes? He’s 8 months old and not stupid at all lol so anything I buy to go round the TV that isn’t literally bolted down to the floor he’d have that over 😂
