Potty training non verbal child?? Tips please

DS is 2 (27 months). I am a teacher and have 2 months of work for the summer holiday and I think it's the perfect time to start potty training. However DS is non verbal. Any tips welcome

How's his understanding? My DD barely said a word at this age but could understand what we said.

We just did it like our first, explained it was time for "big boy pants" and took them shopping for some pants they liked and a couple of potties and just sat them on it for times like their favourite tv show and when the bath was running.

TBF at this time of year you can just take them into the garden with a potty handy and let them runaround naked.
