Toddler & loud noises

DD (2.3) is chatty, loud herself, sociable. She's lately started crying the minute she's near something loud like a strimmer, or tile cutter (random that one I know!) she also has a melt down if I talk to her through the baby monitor when she's in her room. However she's totally fine with things like tractors & quad bikes despite the noise. Anyone have any experience of this? Every time I Google I just get 'autism' but her other characteristics aren't typical of this...

It might be worth doing the mchat test, just to see what her risk of ASD is. The trouble with looking online is that a lot of the information about ASD is information on how it relates to boys. Girls with ASD can behave very differently.

It’s a loud sudden scary noise. My toddler hates hand dryers in toilets!

I think a lot of toddlers have this. DS1 is terrified of hand dryers in toilets and motorbikes but not other loud things like drills or lawn mowers etc

My nephew hated hoovers at that age

Oh and both my DS hate me talking through the baby monitor - think they find it scary that they can hear me on the camera
