My 8 month old is a very happy smiley baby but I have a few concerns about her development and I don’t know if I’m worrying too much.
I’ll start with what she can do -
Sit unsupported for long periods of time, she can reach over flat to get something and return to sitting.
Makes good eye contact when she’s not playing - when she’s playing she’s very engrossed in what she’s doing.
Laughs and smiles a lot
Recognises familiar stories and songs
Recognises some basic words like ‘up’
Babbles dadada and bababa and aaaa sounds
Play’s peekaboo and where’s mummy pulls cloth off my head and laughs
Seems to be trying to wave
Eats everything
Sleeps through
Concerns
Doesn’t seem to know her name at all
Seems so distracted when playing with toys that she almost doesn’t know I’m there
Doesn’t babble back and forth or repeat sounds
Doesn’t crawl or pull herself up - gets around by rolling over and over
I don’t know if I should be worried it’s the lack of response to her name which really is worrying me.
