Putting things in mouth..... or not!

My daughter, aged 9 months, doesn't put anything in her mouth. Nothing at all. Oh, except her thumb of course (which is fairly permanently installed). Anyone else come across this one and if so, when did their child 'get it' and realise that shoving food in that direction is a good idea? Just curious really, not worried.

On the plus side, it means I needn't worry about the quality of my vacuuming for fear of a small child following on behind 'hoovering up' all the dust balls and bits I've missed ......

DD refused to put anything edible in her mouth for aaaaaaaaages. Non-edible stuff, not a problem, that went in the mouth and through her digestive system in the blink of an eye...
