7 month old concerns

Hi, I have a 7 month old. Is she supposed to be on 3 meals a day? I’ve only just started 2. Also is it normal for babies to take a while learning to crawl. She have been getting on her hands and knees for a few weeks now but can’t master actually crawling. But also doesn’t seem to fussed, she prefers to stand and can pull up on furniture. Just wondering if this all sounds normal?

Most babies don’t get onto 3 meals until 10-12 months.

My DD didn’t crawl until 10.5 months so I wouldn’t worry!

I agree, it sounds like she's doing well with weaning. Crawling varies hugely, some babies seem to spend a lot of time 'practicing', i.e., stuck on all fours rocking, and others just suddenly crawl across the room one day, but at 7 months, there's plenty of time.

Oh my goodness she's doing great! Crawling is a 9-10 month milestone and definitely wouldn't expect three meals a day this soon (fine if they are of course but they always say food under 1 is just for fun!)

My just 7 month old isn't up on all fours yet and is only having the odd purée a few times a day. Your little one is doing fine Smile

My baby girl is almost 8 months and I keep thinking she should be on 3 meals a day too! She's on a bit of purée and finger foods once a day sometimes twice. However logic tells be there is no rush at all, they are still so young. As long as they are practicing and getting a variety that's all that matters. Milk provides their nutrients in the meantime.
She's not crawling either but that will come soon I'm sure.

Current NHS advice is to move to 3 meals between 8 and 9 months, taking the baby's lead. You aim to be on 3 meals plus 2 snacks at 12 months with just 300 ml of full fat cows milk a day.
