Toddler Spitting Juice - HELP!

rahall21 · 17/06/2021 15:58

My almost 2-year-old has picked up a habit of sipping juice and then spitting it into things - bowls, upside down blocks, toy purses, anything that could hold liquid.

I have tried reprimanding her, taking the juice and receptacles away for a period of time, controlling the juice and giving it to her a little at a time but she just keeps doing it.

I know it's probably a phase and will pass, but I'm at the end of my rope cleaning up multiple liquid messes throughout the day and also worried I'm hindering her independence of having a drink when she wants one.

Any insights or tips are appreciated!

I would only give her juice at the dinner table with meals and water as her drink while playing. I'd also set her up with some water play. If you don't have a water table then a tub with water and containers works well.
