LO is almost 10 months old. I want to ditch the dummy. She only really has it for naps and bedtime now, how can I get rid of it?

I just took my daughters away at 6.5 months (she’s 8 months now)
Within 2 days it was like she never had one.

We went cold turkey. Yes it was a week of absolute hell! Especially at night. But it was worth doing as now she settles herself at night and she's slept through for weeks. I was so done getting up 5-6 times every night just to put that flipping dummy back in her mouth haha!

@leah1991 how old was your little one? We were doing the dummy run to for ages but now at a stage where we don’t have to because it doesn’t seem to bother her when it comes out.

She was 2. She was really dependant on it. Unfortunately she always screamed at night when it come out her mouth so your lucky it doesn't bother your little one. Getting rid of dummies was the best thing we ever did. She sleeps through now and had done for ages and her speech jas improved from not having one in her mouth in the day.

Also I forgot to mention all the tantrums in the day if she didn't get her dummy. It was just ridiculous in the end.

My boy was just turned 3 and only had it for bedtime. One night he lost it and went to sleep fine without it. Has been fine ever since so yeah cold turkey
