Should I bring Bedtime forward?

Hi there,
My 5.5yr old gets into bed at 7:30pm followed by his sibling who’s 2.5yrs old approx 40minutes later. We don’t sent them at the same time as they end up fighting with each other (younger one seems to always start it).
However today me & hubby ended up having a argument as he suggests the bedtime needs to be bought forward! Already my 5.5yr old wakes up at 6am after sleeping at 7:30pm can’t imagine what time he would get up if he slept earlier.
What time do your kids of similar ages go to sleep?
Many thanks x

Shouldn't the younger one be going to bed first rather than the older one?

dementedpixie we’ve tried that several times because yes he should be, however he won’t go to bed without knowing his brother is there

Sounds very unfair to the older one then if his bedtime is dictated by his younger brother

I agree very unfair to the older one. I'm presuming he's a more easy going personality type. However if you expect him to endure injustices like this just to placate the younger one he'll end up resenting it eventually. I think you need to get firmer with the young one. I presume they share a room?
