losing it with dd - refusing to go to bed

arrgh I'm sooooo angry with dd (5)

she's refusing to go to bed without me staying with her

she's had buckets of attention all day but now she's refusing to stay in bed - it's driving me up the wall

I've tried bribery rewards (failed), loss of privileges (failed), shouting I even smacked her (at the end of tether emoticon)

dh has been working away for 3 weeks so I can't hand her over to him and walk away

she's now pawing me and asking for a cuddle and I've just had enough

don't know what to do

Just ignore her, if she paws you, get up and do something else. At the moment, she is getting all of your attention and so it's worth staying up. Then lead her back to bed, only saying, "time for bed, night night" and just keep doing that. Good luck, it's soooo frustrating, esp at this end of the day.
