Response to name

Hi.
My baby is 5 months old. He doesn't respond to his name all the time. When did your kids start responding to their names . All the baby milestones show babies responding as early as 5 months.

Name response emerges around 6 months but isn't expected to be consistent until around a year. Definitely wouldn't expect much from a 5 month old. My 6 month old turns to sound but doubt he really knows his name! My toddler DS didn't respond properly until around 10-11 months. Don't worry.

My daughter is 7 months and she rarely responds to her name - when she does it seems more like luck! I wasn’t sue if I should be worried so it’s good to see it’s not really expected consistently yet.
