I've made a purée fish pie (sounds lovely I know HmmGrin) for daughter who is 6 month
I basically blended

Broccoli
Haddock
Potato
Parsley
Onion
Butter
Milk
(Boiled the veg and cooked the fish first obviously)

I put into small ice cube trays and she's currently on two ice cubes for lunch atm. But I have just read onion isn't recommended until 8 months+ because of gas problems. It was a small pinch of cut up onion. Can she still have the fish pie? It's took up two ice cube trays lol.

I'm all new to this so would like advice and if anyone else had any recipes that include protein for her.

TIA! Smile

Am no expert but honestly really can't see it being an issue. Unless it is causing gas problems with your little one i'd carry on!

I can't see it would cause a problem but at 6 months I assume you've just started weaning so are you not still working through single food purees? 6 months Is a little early for blended meals I think?

I've been weaning since 23 weeks on single veg and still going to continue I just batch cooked this to freeze for a few weeks time. I read in my books they need meat so panicked and thought I'd blend a fish pie lol I've just read they can have onion so feel better. Thanks for replies xxx

Ah ok well then yes. I really don't think onion will cause issues. I never gave it a second thought with mine and I'm pretty sure they both had Bolognese before 8 months!!

Also they don't need meat. Until about one milk should be they're main source of food.
