Stuttering

Name changed for this.
Wasn't quite sure which topic to post this under but figured it's kind of developmental.
My son will be 3 in August, we've had no problems with him developmentally what so ever & he has great speech.
Yesterday lunchtime I noticed he was stuttering with certain words, mostly words with k..... like, broke, park, think, make & also grandad.
It just started all of a sudden. We are not going to make a big deal out of it & we will 'ignore' it so not to draw attention to it but just wondered if this has happened to anyone else's child? Obviously if it carrys on then we'll contact the gp for advice.

Is your DS repeating thge ends of words, you mention the k in various words above which are towards the end.

My DD started doing this about a year ago, saying sock ok ok or get et et, we noticed during the first lock down and mentioned it to her teacher when she returned and had we got to the parents evening the week after the schools closed she would have also brought it up.

It tends to come and go, some days it's really noticeable, others another person who doesn't know wouldn't pick it up at all.
Worse if she's excited as thinking too fast for her mouth to keep up or tired.

Does your DS attend a nursery that could do a referral for an SLT review or you could contact the GP/HV and ask them.
This is what the school did with DD, it took a while due to the lock down but once we had a phone review they gave us some good tips and will review every 6 months.

Rugbymumof2 thanks for your reply. Yes he's repeating the ends of certain words like you describe. Yesterday it did seem to have gotten a bit worse but doesn't seem to bad so far today. He doesn't go to nursery/ pre school yet, he's due to start in September so I think I'll have to contact the gp/ heath visitor myself it carries on
