SOS Infant hates being put down

Hello wise mums. My daughter is 3.5mo and refusing to be put down. She was/is a refluxy baby and needs to be held after each feed, which are short and frequent during the day (too frequent, but that is a challenge for another time).

Whenever we put her in her Stokke Tripp Trapp newborn/musical swing seat/maxi cosi car seat it is absolute purple meltdown. To the point that I sometimes worry it's hurting her? Which can't be right as she is fine being lain down and all of the above have her well supported and not upright.

Recently she has been happy to go onto the activity mat/bed next to us/crib for small chunks of time - huge win!

But I am at my wits end as essentially haven't been able to put her down for a lonnnnggggggggg time and get anything else done (she is also quite clingy and is rarely content on anyone else).

Any advice or shared experiences on this? Thank you!

Oh and this is just referring to times when she is awake. When I provide her with entertainment as well - but she just wants to be held constantly.

Sleeping is another issue... (naps on me, sometimes pram, sometimes next to me on the bed while I Netflix. Night sleeps in Moses basket once put down drowsy, thank goodness).

This does sound like normal baby activity.

Have you tried a nice stretchy sling so that you can do things like actually make a sandwich? Smile

Hello! I’m glad it’s normal, and hopefully something she will grow out of! Smile

Yes to sling! Mixed success. Not very confident with the stretchy, so sometimes sub in the ergobaby which she has started trying to escape upwards out of (which is interesting considering she can barely hold her head up)!

Not very confident with the stretchy,

Have you gut a Sling Library or a Sling Consultant nearby? It might help your confidence if you talk to them Thanks
