When should I worry about my 6mo?

I have a little girl, aged 6months and 1 week. She isn’t able to sit unassisted yet. She will last maybe 10 seconds at most. All of my friends babies seems to be doing this and I’ve seen pictures of babies her ages sitting happily playing on the grass.
She can roll over both ways and does this to get around the room over and over I just don’t know if I should worry or not or if there is anything I can do to promote her sitting independent?

Hi @theresaplaceforus
Don't worry at all at this point - I used to work in a nursery and many babies were not sitting completely unaided at this age. My own DC weren't either! She does well to sit for 10 seconds 🙂 try popping something behind her like a pillow so she won't hurt herself if she falls back, and position it so it's not actively supporting her and she'll get there in time. Hugs 🤗 xoco

Sitting unaided isn’t a problem until 10 months. My little girl didn’t sit unaided comfortably until she was 9 months so I wouldn’t worry. Smile

Seriously don't worry. I know tons of babies who couldn't sit st 6 months. Great she's rolling both ways. My oldest son didn't learn to roll until at least 9 months and he's amazingly athletic!

My firstborn hit his physical milestones on the earth side ( crawled at 6 months , cruising by 7/8 months, walking by 10 months ) but he only started sitting unassisted between 6-7 months and even then he was wobbly. I always thought that was average so you definitely have nothing to worry about.

My second born is 5.5 months and is nowhere close to sitting .

My son never sat unaided! He seemed to bypass it and went straight to crawling and walked at 10 months.
He's 30 now and can sit unaidedGrinGrin

You're absolutely fine for now ! Sitting is from 6 months not bang on. Both mine were later than that and also rolled first.

My boy was eight months sitting unaided x
