a little girl using a pair of her mums knickers as a comfort blanket! my ds3 has a blanket, but there is no way i would let one of my children take a pair of my knickers!
what things do your children have as comforters?

I don't think that is so bad! If my DS finds a pair of mine, he puts them on his head!

belgo · 11/11/2007 17:43

what sort of knickers?

She probably got hold of them and would have a tantrum if her mum tried to take them off of her.

belgo · 11/11/2007 17:44

I remember dd1 putting 11 pairs of underpants around her neck as a garland! We took a photo as blackmail for those teenage years....

3Ddonut · 11/11/2007 17:49

dd2 used to use a new pair of ds's pants as a comforter, can't remember how that came about now but I've saved them in my memory box

TripleyTigger · 11/11/2007 17:49

My ds used to carry a tea towel around with her. She didn't care which one and was often caught 'stealing' them from friends houses!!

BettySpaghetti · 11/11/2007 17:51

I knew of a little boy who used to like silky type comforters -you'd frequently see him with a silky camisole or slinky slip.

Not wearing them , just snuggling up to them

fortyplus · 11/11/2007 17:51

I have a picture of ds2 aged 2 with a pair of my pants on his head and socks for ears being a 'funny bunny'! But NO WAY I would've let him out in public!

MaeWest · 11/11/2007 18:13

DS doesn't really have a comforter (apart from his thumb) but he does like to wear my bra's on his head - the cups are comfortably large enough . Not in the supermarket tho...

3madboys · 11/11/2007 18:21

when ds1 was about two and just potty trained, he got some new pants from grandma as a treat, there were 7pairs in a little bag all with little pics on, anyway this 'bag of pants' became his most fave thing in the world, he never wore them just carried the bag EVERYWHERE with him.

one day we took him to a steam railway exhibition, it had a park, animals etc too, its a great place for kids, anyway he had the bag of pants with him, but we managed to persuade him to leave them in the car whilst we were in the park great we thought but he spent the whole day asking when we were going to go home and then when we finally said it was time to go back to the car, he exclaimed "GREAT NOW I CAN GET MY BAG OF PANTS",

ArmadilloDaMan · 11/11/2007 18:22

a girl I was at school with used to use her mum's knickers as a comforter. She used to sneak them out her mum's drawer.

Mine has a boring old cot blanket (actually 2).

stripeymama · 11/11/2007 18:30

This has reminded me of the time I picked up dd from nursery, saw she had a runny nose and went for a tissue in my bag, only for her to pull a pair of pants (fortunately both hers and clean) out of her pocket and say 'Don't worry Mummy, I remembered to bring a hanky my own self'.

ArmadilloDaMan · 11/11/2007 19:15

ROFL

she was obv being very grown up.

ItsMyTurn · 11/11/2007 20:35

not a 'comforter' story but when i was about 7 and we wre having a loft conversion, I put one of my mum's enormous sanitary pads with the loops/belt on my foot and pretended it was a bandage . my mum was mortified

ItsMyTurn · 11/11/2007 20:36

the builders thought it was hilarious

Aha Cazboldy, I am so glad that it wasn't just me.

Here goes....

DS2 liked to 'silk' things against his cheek, and the thing he found most comforting were my 'Bridget Jones' stylee Big Pants. We carried them EVERYWHERE.

Oh the shame.

Shouting, with a lisp 'thilky pants mummy, thilky pants, pleeeease'.

Aww

fawkeoff · 11/11/2007 20:53

my son is just borin, he uses lots of blankets

cazboldy · 11/11/2007 20:55

wish my son used lots, but it has to be this particular kind of cellular blanket - and i only have 2 of them - and they are white!

ds used to shove his hand down my top - still does sometimes when he's upset.

What was more embarassing was when he did it to a rather large busted friend of mine Stuck his hand down and had a good rummage.
