Nearly 5 months and stopped making cooing noises

My daughter is 5 months in a week.
A couple of months ago she was making cooing noises but I have just noticed that she hasn't been making any noises lately.
She has had colds on and off for a couple of months. She started to roll from back to front a few days ago. She is on gaviscon for silent reflux and cries a lot although usually stops when I walk around holding her. She smiles at me and is staring to laugh. She is also going through a phase of blowing raspberries. I looked online and am really worried about her not making any noises :( has anyone got any similar experiences? Could there be something wrong? Thank you for any help.

Nothing to worry about at all, she just doesn't have anything to say! Far too early to worry op, enjoy her x

My first baby did exactly this! Went very quiet between 4-7 months. He was totally perfecting his gross motor at the time. He started babbling out of the blue one day at 7 months and is a now a very verbal 3 year old. Babies often focus on one skill at a time to the detriment of others (temporarily.) Don't worry.

My DD went very quiet at one point too, turns out she was practising other skills. Like PP said, once they master a skill they often ‘forget’ about it whilst they work on the next one. Smile

My baby did the same. He stopped making any sort of talking noises for ages. He even started walking before starting up with the talking again!

@amankaura hi. It’s a few years ago. But can you please update? My five month old also doesn’t talk much.
