Hungry baby?

My baby boy is turning 4 weeks, he was breast fed with top ups for 2 weeks but my milk wasn't coming in (emergency section) so we settled on formula. He is taking between 4/5oz each feed and finishes content but within 10/20 min he's scrounging again. Mouthing at everything. It can take me anything upto an hour to settle him before he realises he's not hungry. And he's not hungry because Iv made him more milk a few times and he messes with it. Then when I finally settle him I'm lucky to get an hour before he's on the hunt again! He's on hungry baby milk, but I'm at a loss! Any advice?

Hungry baby milk isn't really suitable for that age group as its harder to digest and can cause constipation. I'd give 1st milk instead.
Does he have a dummy? Maybe he just wants to suck something

The midwife is happy with him on hungry baby milk, his bowel movements are fine and very regular. He has a dummy but it generally just annoys him when he realises it's not food.

But what made you choose hungry milk? It has no more calories than first milk

If he's draining the bottles then offer an extra ounce in each

Hungry baby milk is a marketing ploy and is no help to babies at all. If he is hungry, up his oz.

My son was a big baby, nearly 10 pounds when he was born! He started off being breastfed but I couldn't keep up with him so he was stopped up with formula from very early on! I used normal formula and he was looking for bottles every hour...I even upped the formula and he was still looking for more. I switched him to hungry baby and still gave him the extra ounce or 2 and he was full for a few hours at a time. Try an extra ounce or 2 and see if it works...every baby is different after all 😁

Could he have wind? My DD used to root and act hungry when she had wind.

I agree could be wind, I had the same problem my little girl was constantly hungry, started on hungry baby and it helped but then she also had colic so went on infacol aswell.
Ignore the comments about the hungry baby milk, if they're bowel movements are regular then it's fine.
Up the oz aswell do an extra oz or two in the bottle just to be sure.
