How do you discipline a stubborn and angry 8 year old?

My dd is 8 in 3 weeks. I'm sure it's the case of alot of children when they get told off they go in a huff etc. My dd gets very angry for the littlest of things which I do think has got alot worse in lockdown but she was a bit like that before and I think it stems from her dad passing away when she was 3 but I'm not sure. It could just be an age thing as she only does it with family and never at school. Anyway my question is if a child is very in your face, throwing things and slamming doors, rude to you calling you names and lashing out at siblings because they aren't happy they are getting told off what would you do? Would you take something away from them as punishment? How do you handle the outbursts? I just feel like I'm shouting at her all the time and it's making her worse. There must be a better way to deal with it. Should I just ignore her and let her let off steam but then punish her in some way by talking device away for example?

I found this book good as it made me think differently about how I was relating to my children when they are angry
