Talk Potty training
Sudden bedwetting1
Today 08:57OnNaturesCourse

My 3 year old has been potty trained for nearly a year, and dry overnight for about 4 months (being out of night pull ups for about 2 months or so) She usually gets up if she needs to go during the night.

Suddenly she has started wetting the bed. We've had 3 accidents in two weeks.

Her night routine hasn't changed, and she pees before bed.

She does have a new, 4 week old, sibling... And this is the only trigger I can think of. I think the stress of this is coming out in bedwetting however she cant vocalise it yet.

How can I help her? What else could it be?

We've tried talking about it, reward charts, and not giving the accidents much attention.

I'm at my wits end as with every accident she is getting more and more upset, and last time didn't even get out of her bed - she just lay in it and cried.

I'm heartbroken for her, and don't know how to help.

I think she is still so little it is normal. Mine was like this dry every night but starting to wet again. At that age their bodies are not fully ready to do it, nothing wrong if she regresses. I would just put her back in a pull up. At 3 she won't remember or care. Or just go for patience and washing machine method, I couldn't be bothered with that one though. If she was 7 and had been dry a few years it might be different but she is 3 and it has been a couple of months so nothing to worry about

Unfortunately she's 3 but wearing age 7 clothes so finding pull ups that actually fit her and hold the amount of urine she produces is hard as it's not little accidents, its floods.

The wet bedding is distressing her no end.

They make pull-ups for night time drynites up to age 15 so I think you'll find ones to fit her. Really at 3 I don't think the bedding is distressing her as much as you think she is so little still.

@OnNaturesCourse how about setting an alarm twice a night or whenever you know she may be needing to go and just waking her up to go and wee? May help.
