18 month speech

I don't know if I'm expecting too much? But DS is almost 18 months and isn't really talking. He did have a few words but since he's been walking he seems to have forgotten them!

HV is coming to see him on Tuesday but should I be concerned? I'm also not sure how much he understands what I ask him to do as sometimes it seems he does and other times it's like I'm speaking a different language!

When mine were little they said what they were looking for at 18 months was 6-18 "appropriate sounds". So if he says "moo" for cow that counts etc.
I would mention it to the HV, and see what they say.

He will growl for dinosaur but that's the only one, she's coming Tuesday so I will speak to her about it but wasn't sure if I was worried for nothing! He's very verbal and chatty just not actual words!
