do they sometimes start with just a little small spot of dull blood and then nothing? The very first one, I mean?

can do.

how old is your dd? and how big? They tend not to start until a girl is 7 stone (but this can vary)

well, I was aware of the weight connection, mb, and dd1 is only 5 stone and a bit, and 11. She's had some slight spotting twice but just one-off. I feel a bit foolish because we don;t really know if she's started or not

DD was definitely not 7 stone when she started, in fact she's barely 7 stone now (she's 17) She was almost 12 when she started & it was just a spot or two the first time, the second was a bit more, but she wasn't really regular until she was 14.

dd1 had this.

For years... but not that often.

She finally started properly at the beginning of this year. Her periods weren't particularly regular, and it's only really the last couple of months that they have come when she expected them to.

francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2007 22:00

yes can do. didn't know the 7 stone thing (how much is 7 stones in Kilos? looks at MB)

pointydog · 03/11/2007 22:00

so literally a spot, rusty? A spot in her knickers, then nothing for a day or two, then maybe another small spot, then nothing for couple of months?

yes, I remembered they weren't at all regular for quite a while. But I remmeber knowing the day mine started. And the two of us are now humming and hawing over this.

As far as I remember yes, though there may have been more when she wiped - she didn't really go into great detail.....

pointydog · 03/11/2007 22:16

yes, I know, I don't want to go on about all the detials

my dd is 15 ,nearly 16.SHe started with very light spotting that you describe when she was 13.
She still is very irregular as are apparently a lot of her friends.
She didn't have a normal period ( actually a reasonable amount of blood) until she was 14.She still has occasional very light ones so still not regular.
