Refusing bottle

My little one is 5.5 months.
In the last couple of weeks she's been refusing her bottle, getting half way through it and smacking the bottle away or wriggling. She's doesn't seem to be in pain but just that she doesn't want it.
She's went from drinking a 9oz bottle to now drinking about 5oz.
If I keep persisting she will get another oz in her but she won't finish the bottle.
I thought it might be teething as she's drooling a lot and her hands are constantly in her mouth.
Has anyone experienced this?

Have you tried a faster teat? Smacking the bottle is usually a sign the flow is too slow.

My DS is the same. His now 7 months and really hasn't been that into milk ... his morning bottle he will take 7oz but mid day and night 5oz maybe 6 on a good day. Iv just upped him to 3 meals and use formula to make his breakfast. I give him plenty of calcium rich foods and the multivitamin ... My SIL is a health visitor and she said that's absolutely fine. Can't force them 🤷🏻‍♀️... I have a 2 year old DD too and she was the same and she is absolutely fine!!

But incase you haven't tried maybe ... faster test, or changing feeding position to facing outwards, feeding in a quiet room or alternatively while she's focused on something consistent ... sometimes distraction comes into play at this age.

Good luck. X

Thank you @LJFMO2 I've changed her bottle as she had the tommee tippee anti colic ones and she's now taking them better, she does prefer food though lol x
