I have a 2 and a almost half year old, lovely most of the time but if spoken to or asked a question he blanks us. He is brilliant at repeating new vocabulary and loves reading and going to nursery but I'm not sure whether I should be worried that he won't say please, thank-you or even yes.

To be clear, he does speak! He's very talkative but it's almost like a stubbornness not to concede a point or just say "yes" to "Would you like toast" but then will whinge if toast isn't forthcoming. Will repeatedly say honey toast but when asked if he wants honey he will not say yes. Nor please..I have no idea if I'm completely nuts but have no clue about normal toddler behaviour.
