Nearly 14 month old moans and whines so much :-(

Hi all,
DS is nearly 14 months old, and I think even though he’s always been a great sleep which I am very grateful for, I feel like I’ve made up for that in other ways, he’s always whined and moaned for as long as I can remember, and now he’s a young toddler it seems to be getting a bit worse!
He’s developing okay (I think) not walking yet but moved around with no issues, crawls quickly, pulls up, cruises etc. But he doesn’t say any words yet, it’s just “oooo” and points, and he babbles a lot.
But the main issue is he moans and it actually drives me nuts having someone basically get on at me all day long! I don’t think he’s unwell or teething, just frustrated!! Anyone else have the same?
Also it seems like girls are a lot better at this age, is that right?

Thanks.

I think it can be a really difficult age. They are understanding so much more but can't really express to you what's going on in their head.

We did signs which in convinced helped to ease the frustration. Makaton is a good system as it's developed for children. Start off with some simple ones like Mum, Dad, Milk, More and Up.

Talking Point have some tips for improving speech here and once he's 16 months I'd possibly do the m-chat just to see what his risk of ASD is.
