Marbles,

Following on from this thread, I showed the children the marbles and they seemed very excited by them. Previously I had asked DD several times to pick up all the jigsaws she had thrown and she still hadn't done it when we left for school. Once home, I asked her to pick them up. She said she had a tummy ache and I said she could rest as soon as it was done. Once she knew about the marbles she was keen to do it. I haven't given her any marbles for doing it as I have had to ask her over again to do it. Is that too mean?

eeek, I think you should have given her a marble, she did do it eventually, the reward needs to be a guarentee for good behaviour/following instructions ect, not hit and miss.
