My dd is do excited to get into preschool in the morning, that when we have to wait our turn, she will run towards that doors and I have to stop her and say no, we have to wait. Well, she's not having that. She goes into a major tantrum, shouting and falling on the floor, keeps trying to run in. I've tried taking a distraction and it doesn't work . It's getting very embarrassing for me too. What should I do about this? Any suggestions greatly appreciated! xx

Get there later.

Sticker chart / reward for waiting nicely.

Better than her clinging on not wanting to go in though!

Oh, and Stay Calm, take yourself somewhere nice in your mind.

Thank you teenplus twenties! Smile Is this a phase they go through? I'm really hoping she will grow out of it! xx

First a disclaimer, my youngest was already 2.5 when she came to us. She was a clingy one on and off throughout primary.

However, think of it this way. She is very young, hasn't learned patience yet, is keen to go in and have fun, and doesn't understand why you aren't letting her.

Stay patient, praise her for waiting nicely whenever she does it (i.e. 30 seconds in to waiting), she will grow out of it. Empathise that yes it is sad she can't go in straight away.

Just keep going. Flowers
