I posted earlier but I think in the wrong section so writing again here to see if any support or reassurance comes my way.

I know there must be so many of these threads but I am looking for a little support and reassurance.

My son is 16.5months old, up until a month ago he was a super engaged attention seeking happy child, however in the past month I have noticed that he no longer shows toys or looks at us for praise as often, I feel that he is avoiding eye contact in close situations. He absolutely refuses all attempts at help with his toys, he will move on to something else if a parent helps.

I have watched him struggle to reach things but he will not reference me to get help. He has no speech, only points with an open hand when requesting food or to things he would like to do eg turn on the lights. He is repetitive in his play in so much as he attempts to stand everything on its end to watch it balance and turns his building blocks over and over, however never seems to spend a huge amount of time on either task, he just does it with every item.

He will seek out cuddles however mainly does this by crawling over and putting his head on my knee, no looking into my face.

He does not clap or wave but high 5's. He is currently under paediatric review and will hopefully be attending a development clinic, any advice is more than welcome.
