I was shocked the other day when I noticed that my 8 year old dd has BO I hope this doesnt mean she has started developing already. I havent even given her the talk about Periods yet. Im terrified she could start now without knowing all about it first.
Is there a website I could show her or book I could buy to tell her about these things?

I recommend 'Have you started yet ? by Ruth Thompson

Thanks MAS. I will look out for that one.
Does anyone know how usual it is for an 8 year old to start getting BO? She doesnt have any other obvious changes as yet.

My 5 year old said her armpits were wet and sweaty after PE. Just wondering if this is normal? No BO though like Sparkles DD.

Thankfully dd has been very good about washing under her armpits every morning since I asked her to. I told her she is a minature adult now & she was quite happy about it.

aww, that's good SparklePrincess- as long as she doesn't feel upset by it all - I think there was a good thread a while back about this very subject - maybe someone can fish it out ?

SparklePrincess · 26/10/2007 20:55

I hope they can.

Hi there, a friend of mines 7 year old daughter has a BO problem. She says no matter how clean she is she still develops a smell so has had to resort to deodorants. Her husband has the same problem so I suppose she inherited it. I've got a great book for my 8 year old (although I'm not sure when to have 'the talk' myself) It's an Usbourne book called 'whats happening to me?' you can get one for boys and one for girls.
