Moderate hearing loss in one ear

Has anyone got any experience of children with the above?

Our 4 week old was seen by the audiologist today and tests currently showing moderate hearing loss in left ear.... back for more tests in 2 weeks.

Just not sure what to expect, how it will affect her etc

Thanks

Hi! Congratulations on your new baby. My son is severe/profound in both ears, so I don't have the specific experience that you're after. However, I wanted to offer my advice which is to take a deep breath and try not to panic.
There are lots of Facebook groups for parents, I think one is called 'support for parents of children with hearing loss '.
A great charity is the NDCS, I would recommend to look at their website and perhaps give them a call with your questions.
Were you given a teacher of the deaf to speak to? What did the audiologist say were the next steps? Hearing aid fitting?
From what i hear from other parents, if it is just one ear then hopefully your child will do very well and might benefit from a hearing aid in one ear
