Hi all, my son has begun to massively resist clothes changes. I've been wondering about what's wrong in our routine but it's dawned on me tonight that perhaps the issue lies in his lack of independence with this activity. So then the question is how to teach him to take off his clothes and put them on himself - when eg attempts to teach him the steps of taking off a long sleeved tshirt just get 'I can't do it!!!'. He potty trained almost instantly at just over 2 years and has good fine motor skills, so I figure he should be able to do it? Keen to hear from anyone's experiences and learnings. Thanks so much

I have a daughter who's similar. Potty trained at bang on age 2 and just before this could dress herself quite easily and even put her own coat on but now almost a year later I usually end up dressing her myself coz otherwise we'd never get anywhere lol and she still insists that she can't get her tops off although I'm sure she must have the skill. This age is still very young. I'd just go with the flow. Chances are they will just do it in their own time in time for starting school which is when it really matters... watching with interest at your responses though haha
