Are massive growth spurts normal.

Dd 5 has seemed to had a massive growth spurt in height. She was 5 in the summer. Started school at just 4 in September 2019 and all her 4-5 uniform was too long on her. Not at 5 and a half her 5-6 clothes are way too short and now she needs 6-7 at least for height. Even some 6-7 is too short.

I don’t think she’s abnormally tall for her age. She’s around 116cm tall which puts her on the 75th percentile. When she was little she was on the 25th percentile even less for height

Just last year in 2019 she was around 100cm tall now she’s grown nearly 20cm taller

Is this massive increase normal?

Both myself and oh are quite tall I guess!

I think you've just answered your own question there OP Smile

Do you know what her projected adult height is from her Red Book?

My 5 Yr old has done the same, was in a 3-4 cardi when she started reception and is now firmly in 5-6 and can wear some 6-7 if not too big round.
Has definitely gained leg length in the past 9m or so.
I love the scandi clothes, last year she was wearing 104 now she's 116-122 depending on the design, it's a great marker on how much she's growing using the cm sizing.

My 10 Yr old has huge growth spurts and is nearly 5ft already, should have been expecting it with the youngest it's just taken a little longed for her to get there.
