What age do babies establish and early sleeping routine? :(

My lg is almost 5 months old and she still goes to bed at the same time as me 10:30pm ish. I used to be able to go to bed around midnight as I am a late sleeper and always have been but I have to lay next to her and wait for her to be asleep and by that time I can't be bothered to go downstairs

She also won't sleep unless she's breastfed to sleep which something can take ages! I've tried to reduce her bedtime every week by around 15 minutes/half an hour but it doesn't seem to be working. She's a great sleeper once she's asleep I just want my evenings back. tell me it gets better??? :( dad works nights and family is too far away as well so I don't get a night off unfortunately.

That seems very late for a baby! My son was going to bed at around 6pm at that age. However, I wasn’t breastfeeding by then. Friends who continued are still having the issue of hour/two hour long feeds at night (10 months now!) so I’m afraid I can’t give any hope there!

What does an average day look like for baby?

My daughter is 23 months old and hardly ever sleeps before midnight. That's with no naps! I'd love a half ten tbh.

It's been a while since mine were that age but just wondered if you'd tried the No Cry Sleep Solution?

It may help you reclaim your evenings Smile

Oh wow! Sorry, my comment looks awful next to those
Can you tell I’ve only had the one baby? 😆

@Eggcellent29 my first child, who is now 15, slept all night... 7pm to 8am. I had her a great routine, felt a bit smug about it! Well my little one, she's the complete opposite. Just totally stubborn and fights sleep! Now realising it's true what they say that you don't get two the same! 😂

10:30 is a little later that I would like. But she wakes up between 8:30-9:30am. Some babies wake up at 6am. I know what I'd prefer so I guess I should choose my evenings or a lay in! Haha. Yes breastfeeding makes it a little harder I think.

Oh lovely. I really do feel for you. Doesn't she get frustrated with no naps?!!
