3.5 year old hyperactive at bed time

Hi. My son turns 4 in April and I'm near certain he has autism or another development disorder. He's been assessed for autism and nothing conclusive but is still on the radar. He also has a speech delay where he knows a lot of words, a handful of sentences but does not communicate well at all.

With that said, I was curious to know if anyone else experienced the following or know anything about it. When I put my son to bed, around 7pm, his heart beat is racing like crazy. He spends the next 30 minutes constantly moving, slamming his head into the pillow and most weirdly repeating lines from a TV show pretty much non stop for 30 minutes.

Any ideas.?

Is he under a Paediatrician? Just wondering if they've come across it before?

Could it be part of his own bed time routine? i.e. it is what he needs to do before he can go to sleep, also referred to as ritualistic behaviour.

No, first time I'm really mentioning it to anyone to be honest. @AladdinMum, it's pretty much the same routine every night. I know when he's tired he does become more hyperactive but recently it's been quite extreme.

I am no expert but I thought the repeat of lines from tv programs and other such things is echolia, which is a sign of ASD; It maybe that he's soothing himself for bed. Also, he might be getting hyper to make himself tired. Like some babies cry before bed to make themselves tired. Have you tried taking him for a walk or a physics activity before bed, we go outside and play, have dinner, bath and bed and that seems to work well for us.

Could you give him bath a little earlier and let him sit with you for a while in the evening, playing, until he is tired? He might feel happier with mum and dad around and if there is something that interests him, will happily do that for a while before sleep.
