I know this may sound trivial to most but my 8 year old has recently started enjoying rubbing her ‘bits’ when sitting on cushions I noticed this last week and now when I walk into her room she looks startled. I’ve read a few threads stating it’s normal but it’s odd to me. Can’t stop worrying about it. I asked her why she was doing it and she said it feels nice and explained that she might end up sore down there but I really don’t know what to think about jt. Also she has recently started having body odour is she just growing up?!

Of course it's normal. What she needs to know, however, is that she can only do it when she's on her own somewhere private, and that it's not something to talk about at school etc. It's unlikely she's going to do anything that makes her sore.
Maybe you should knock before you go into her room if she's getting to the age of needing privacy. Children from this age need to be able to expect some privacy sometimes (not just for ahem, pleasure time) though I'd still want to supervise internet use.

Thank you. I just feel I need recurrence as She is my only child and this is something I thought would come waaaaaay down the line. I’ve spoke to her and told her it’s nothing she is going to get in trouble for and explained about privacy etc etc as at first I was so shocked and anxious about the whole thing I didn’t know what else to do.
