I hope this is the right place to post this. My DS (3) has been referred to a paediatrician following concerns that me and DH and our nursery have, along with the support of our area senco. The senco feels DS has several asd traits and that he needs additional support at nursery.
We have been referred to portage, but understand we probably won't hear from them until the spring term.
Obviously I don't want to jump the gun and assume a 'diagnosis' for DS, but I'd really like to find some useful books/online resources so that I can learn about asd and how try and understand and support DS
The particular areas of concern are around his communication (were seeing a SALT), his social skills and he also appears to have some sensory issues with textures
Any pointers or advice anyone can share would be really great
