A while ago I posted about my concerns about ds's lack of fine motor skills, well look at him now

Nursery were rather concerned as he couldn't use scissors, hold a pencil anywhere near correctly, and couldn't draw simple shapes let alone letters etc.

I was very worried about how he would get on at school, and had even spoken to his new teacher about it prior to his first day. His teacher/s (jobshare), said not to worry and he'd be fine, but I honestly was not conviinced. His sisters had always been good at this stuff, been writing their names since 3 etc etc so this was completely alien to me.

Anyway, ds has now been at school for 5 weeks, and I could tell that he was generally more interested in learning as he would tell me about what he'd done, but today he gave me such a shock.

I had just come in from college and he was waffling on, and I was only half listening to him really but could see he was sat there with a pencil and paper, and then he said 'so look then mum'. I looked and he'd written 'Harry' in the biggest and neatest letters (god am welling up again), and I was soooooooo proud I cried and scooped him up and danced around the room with him.

I am so pleased with him and so grateful that he has such good teachers, that have made being at school and doing work so much fun, that he has gone from the boy who never even wanted to touch a pencil, to the boy who loves to draw and can write his name in only 5 weeks.

Just wanted to share this as it made me so happy
